“Sejak era kolonial Masjid Agung Bandung menjadi magnet yang tak terbantahkan, menarik perhatian baik wisatawan lokal maupun asing.”

Masjid Agung Bandung telah lama memainkan peran sentral sebagai ikon objek wisata religi di tengah gemuruh Kota Bandung yang terus berkembang sejak masa kolonial.

Hampir tiap tahunnya, ribuan pengunjung membanjiri kawasan masjid ini, terutama pada hari-hari besar dalam tradisi Islam.

Mesjid Agung Bandung menjadi magnet yang tak terbantahkan, menarik perhatian wisatawan dan masyarakat setempat dalam merayakan momen-momen penting.

Destinasi Favorit Pelesir

Melalui laporan di koran Bataviaasch Nieuwsblad 5 Maret 1930, kita melihat betapa meriahnya perayaan Garebeg Puasa di Masjid Agung Bandung kala itu. 

Ribuan orang berkumpul, termasuk sosok Bupati Bandung kharismatik saat itu R.A. A Wiranatakusumah, untuk merayakan momen penting dalam penanggalan kalender Islam. 

Meskipun perayaan ini berlangsung dengan tenteram dan tertib, semaraknya terpancar dalam hiasan dan suasana yang begitu istimewa.

Sebuah catatan menarik dari tahun 1938 (Batavia Nieuwsblad 21 November 1938) juga menyebutkan bagaimana Masjid Agung Bandung membawa dampak signifikan pada sektor transportasi. 

Peningkatan jumlah penumpang kereta api begitu besar, hingga menyebabkan pegawai kereta api (Staatspoorwegen) menambah armada kereta api untuk memenuhi permintaan dari tujuan Bandung-Jogja, Bandung-Batavia, dan lainnya. 

Libur lebaran adalah saat-saat dimana orang merindukan perjumpaan dengan spiritualitas, dan Masjid Agung Bandung adalah tujuan yang tak terlewatkan bagi sebagian dari mereka.

Tidak hanya wisatawan lokal, Masjid Agung Bandung menarik perhatian dari para wisatawan lintas negara, terutama dari Belanda. 

Dalam majalah Mooi Bandung edisi 1938, masjid ini disajikan sebagai objek wisata yang menarik bagi wisatawan Eropa. Dikemukakan bahwa “There is a fine mosque, which is open to European visitors at all time” (Ada masjid indah yang selalu terbuka bagi pengunjung Eropa). 

Pengakuan ini menggambarkan daya tarik universal dari Masjid Agung Bandung, yang menjadi semacam simbol harmoni keagamaan dan keindahan arsitektur tradisional.

Melihat ke belakang, Masjid Agung Bandung adalah saksi sejarah perpaduan spiritual dan keberagaman. 

Momen-momen yang dirayakan dengan meriah dan penuh makna telah membawa kunjungan wisatawan dan pengunjung lokal untuk berdampingan dalam kesatuan yang indah.
