WITH the rapid advancement of technology and the popularity of the sport as entertainment, we witness a gambling culture in almost every single match in sport. With the current online system, each person in every region can participate to play and win a prize from a certain competition. However, realize it or not, history of betting in sports began thousand years ago in ancient Greece and the Roman period.

Starting from the Eighteenth century, with horse racing popularity, the reputation of sports gambling was increasing. However, with the negative effects on the participants, the legalization of sports gambling is not in line with its fame. Only after the twentieth century, did sports gambling become legal, especially in Las Vegas, United States of America, along with the other channels of gambling.

And at the 1990s online system was involved in sports betting. Some platforms took benefit from many popular football matches and put a big wage for those who can win the bet. Until now, sports betting is becoming more and more popular supported by network development. Having long history from ancient times, sports betting is indeed a deep-rooted culture in the sports world.
